Making ends meet for his family, Mr. Brown, known by "Brownie" to all his customers worked nights and weekends for a small number of friends and a few word-of-mouth customers.

Leaving his day job after nearly 25 years, Brownie and his wife Joyce, set up an office in the den of their own. Joyce answered the phones and Brownie went out on calls as a family business, making a great team! Brown’s Gas Appliance and Furnace Service was born.

Brownie and Joyce moved the office from the den of their home to 4 Patterson Ave in Shrewsbury where they grew their business until 2006. Fun fact: Did you know our current phone number used to be the personal number for Brownie and Joyce’s home and at the move they had to get a new phone number for their home since all our customers knew this number?

Carolyn Brown joined her parents in running the business which soon became known as Brown’s Heating & Cooling.

Brownie and Joyce—the founders of our Company pass away and Carolyn resumes management and ownership of Brown’s.

Brown’s Heating & Cooling moves from their location in Shrewsbury to their current location at 88 Birch Avenue in Little Silver.

Brown’s offers their customers new plumbing services.

Brown’s looks onward and upward. Brown’s Home is added to our client services. Custom home remodeling and handyman repairs. Brown’s adds home services and custom home remodeling to our portfolio of services to our customers

November 2020, President & Owner for 25 years, Carolyn Brown passes away leaving behind family and friends who miss her loving spirit. Brown’s begins a new chapter in it’s life, moving ahead without Carolyn’s guidance, but will always hold tight to her vision
